About WorkRite
WorkRite was formed in 1908 by the Meyer family, with the first product being radios for home use.
Due to the shortage of aluminum during WWII, Hughes Aircraft started producing aircraft parts out of laminated birch.
A radio frequency portable machine was developed in-house to speed up the processing of these parts.
After World War II, WorkRite was approached by Robert McDonald, an engineer who had worked for Hughes Aircraft during the war, to manufacture an RF machine for the Woodworking Industry.
WorkRite produced the first portable RF machines for commercial use in 1947.
The company was purchased in 2021 by ArtDesign Group LLC in order to continue repairing, refurbishing, and supplying parts for the high-frequency WorkRite Model 3000/4000 Wood Welders.
With a few thousand RF machines still in use, we have a responsibility to continue supporting our customers today and for years to come.
The demand for wood welders continues to increase as cabinet manufacturers, door companies, furniture factories, and other related companies continue to use WorkRite RF welders to speed up clamping and fabrication time for wood products. We ship our machines all over the world.
This year marks the introduction of a new Workrite RF welder, the Model 5000, using improved components and, of course, proudly produced in the USA.
We are dedicating our new website to the Memory of Robert Meyer (1942-2021) My Friend and Teacher, and to all of us who have ever used a Workrite Woodwelder and needed a helping hand.
